ECM   |   June 29, 2021   |   Expert Travel Tips   |   0 Comments

Starting 1st July 2021, fully vaccinated tourists from around the world will be welcomed back to the golden shores of Phuket, without having to do any quarantine!

The island of Phuket will launch it’s “Phuket Sandbox” program, which means that if you have been vaccinated with 2 doses of Covid Vaccine (at least 14 days before travelling), you are entitled to visit, but must stay within Phuket for 14 days (unless your vacation is less than 14 days and you will travel back directly). After the completion of the 14 days in Phuket, you will then be able to travel to other parts of Thailand.

The Requirements are as follows:

  • Proof of vaccination (2 doses of Covid vaccine) at least 14 days before arrival in Phuket.
  • Health insurance to cover Covid with coverage of100,000 USD or more.
  • Confirmed flight ticket with direct flights to Phuket (transit in Bangkok not allowed)
  • Booking confirmation of 14 days stay at an SHA+ hotel (like Serenity) unless you will stay in Phuket less than 14 days total. 7 nights at 2 different hotels is also allowed as long as they are SHA+
  • COE (Certificate of Entry Form) – Please note that a ‘SHABA’ code will also need to be provided by your hotel to complete this form.

4.4 Million plastic bottles saved in 2019

The Phuket Hotel Association Member hotels, including Serenity Resort & Residences Phuket this year came together to reduce the usage of plastic bottles as part of a series of environmental initiatives to reduce plastic waste on the beautiful island of Phuket. In the first year, member hotels were able to save 4.4 million plastic bottles, with all members moving away from plastic water bottles and instead opting for glass bottles.

The saving of 4.4 million bottles per year equates to an astounding 12,054 bottles per day, a 51% reduction! It is important to us and to other member hotels of the Phuket Hotel Association to reduce our environmental impact and to keep Phuket, the beautiful place to visit that it is.

Moving forward, in the coming months and years, as part of the Phuket Hotel Association, our team, led by our General Manager, Urs, will continue to push for envorinmental intiatives and strive to reduce our plastic waste.

The Long-awaited Chalong Circle Underpass Road Finally Opens!

After 4 years of construction and traffic mayhem, the new underpass road at the 5-road Chalong circle intersection has finally opened on 1 June 2019!

This main traffic artery connects the Rawai and Nai Harn area with the rest of Phuket island and is essential for the movement of traffic to and from this part of the island.

The news come as a huge relief for the hotels, businesses and local residents operating and living in our area.

Our part of Phuket Island can now be reached easily once again and without a 20 plus minutes wait in the notorious traffic jam at the circle.

The modern underpass road/tunnel is about 500 meters long and connects Rawai with ChaoFah West Road leading up to Central Department store and Phuket International Airport.

The tunnel is very well lit and looks safe to drive through as you can discover in the video published together with this blog post.

We look forward to welcoming more tourists and local residents in Rawai and Nai Harn to experience this beautiful and authentic part of Phuket Island, where people come to relax and escape from the busy tourist centres located on the West Coast of Phuket Island.

Rawai and Nai Harn offer you some of the best beaches in Phuket and large choice of local Thai and seafood restaurants run by families since generations.

We are also home to some of the finest hotels and dining venues catering for those looking for a more refined environment and taste.

For more information and bookings please visit our websites at www.serenityphuket.comwww.friendshipbeach.com and www.atmanjai.com

See you in Rawai and Nai Harn!
