Want to get away but don’t have anyone to go with? Perhaps your holiday dates don’t match up with your friends or you want to go to different destinations, no matter the reason, that does not mean that your dream holiday is off the table! Don’t let anyone else stop you from your travelling dreams.

Solo travel has become a millennial norm. It’s a way to get out of your comfort zone, push yourself to the limit and see where life takes you. There’s something so freeing about booking a flight ticket for one, and not know where you’ll end up. Having a relaxed travel plan is the best way to follow your heart and really listen to your intuition. If you arrive at a place and absolutely love it, don’t limit yourself to just a few days. Embrace that new place and take all the time in the world.

Solo travelling means not having to answer to anyone. You’ve only got yourself to think about, so have fun! Alternatively, if you arrive at a place and don’t get a good vibe from it, you’re free to leave at that moment and not let anybody else down.

Travelling alone forces you to meet new people and make new friends. These kinds of situations are often the ones where you make friends for life. You meet similar like-minded people who you can instantly bond with. You get to do and see things that you really want to do, and get to manage your time completely focussing on you.

Of course being alone comes with an added responsibility of staying safe. There is no one by your side 24/7 who’s got your back and is there to take care of you. That’s why it’s important to always be aware, alert, responsible and safe no matter where you go!
